The Mayor of the City of Dubrovnik, Dr. Andro Vlahusic, would like to kindly invite you to the "2nd European Festival of Tourism and Strategy” to be held in Dubrovnik this April 27-30, 2016.
The event will be co-organised with the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and under the patronage of the Croatian Ministry of Tourism. Attached, you will kindly find an Invitation Letter.
The 1st edition of this European Festival of Tourism and Strategy was held last year in our sister-city, Rueil-Malmaison, France, initiated jointly by the mayors of both cities after many years of good cooperation. The festival, to be held alternately between these two cities every year, will hold a Competition with Prizes, a Forum, and a Tourist Fair, where the focus will be on the theme "Challenges of Cultural Tourism in Europe".
The 1st edition of the festival brought together 30 cities from 20 countries to Rueil-Malmaison in June 2015 (www.tourismeetstrategie.com). The renowned French actress, Elsa Zylberstein, presided in the jury alongside other important personalities from French culture, tourism and the arts.
The 2nd edition of this festival, in light of Dubrovnik’s candidacy as European Capital of Culture 2020, will deal with the challenges of cultural tourism in Europe. We believe that this project is of great importance not only for the cultural development of our cities, but also for the development of European cultural centers.
Investments in culture and tourism are also investments in the sustainable development of our cities. We believe that the joint exchange of experience, along with the traditions and principles of multiculturalism, are a pledge of mutual understanding and reciprocal relations between Croatia and its European partners, both today and in the future.
Your Mayor or authorized delegate will enjoy free accommodation in Dubrovnik, while all other costs of your delegation are be borne by your own city.
